Will OS X El Capitan split screen allow Microsoft programs to work with it?

Will OS X El Capitan split screen allow Microsoft programs to work with it? My Microsoft programs aren't compatible with split screen (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (as well as OneNote) in Office 2016 are compatible with Split Screen mode on OS X 10.11. Outlook is not.

None of the Office 2011 applications are compatible with split screen mode.
